My Philosophy

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience successfully helping adults, children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings: early intervention, in & out patient facilities, and school-based health centers.

Originally educated in a psychodynamic, relational tradition, I have adapted a more diverse treatment approach to fit the various needs of clients. Cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy are at the heart of what I do. Together we will identify, challenge and replace automatic negative thoughts and self-defeating behaviors.  While uncovering maladaptive beliefs, the process will empower clients to clearly see options and possibilities - have greater "mindsight."  With this ability to truly "see," clients will find themselves living more enjoyable and fulfilling lives.

As a parent and therapist, I especially enjoy working with parents and their children, adolescents and young adults to help them feel more resilient.  Over the years my practice has evolved to incorporate more focus on the parent-child dyad.   As a parent therapist I am helpful in starting the process of repair.

Parents and children are not isolated.  Whether the issue be anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, personal crisis, divorce or other life transitions - everyone is affected.

I know that we can help ourselves and our children grow in so many ways - let’s figure out how to be our own best ally so that we can also be theirs!
